New Years

Happy New Year!!  I just know 2013 is going to be great

After Christmas

Why do we stay in this cold place?

Had a wonderful Christmas
Went to Montana,weather home was not good snowed and ice.

Everyone is on way home
It is alway so sad after everyone leaves

On to different things
Need to clean house ,Change furniture around,
Start to down size furniture
I have so much I want t clearner look
Getting new carpet in  a hall and one bedroom and a new bathroom.
I have started my closet .If I had paint on it or didn't wear it much out it went.
Now onto the closet shelves

While in New  York

I bought napkins and a bird ornament

I covered a mannequin

 I used one napkin and the bag( the wings) they put in what I bought

The bow at the waist .The handle from bag. 

Also used few other things I bought while in NY.

 Used a napkin,heart, bird from the ABC store there.

 I used  a map napkin of Manhattan for the base of the mannequin

The small pillow is from Trading Tinsel

Jessie's grad.

Here is my granddaughter

She received diploma

from North Dakota

University

So proud

 Now to find a job and find her place in this big world.

It seems alot happens this month 

Son was married Dec 28

Daughter was born Dec 24

Now a Graduation 

We where on our way to graduation .When we stopped to eat lunch and heard

about Ct. What a terrible day for them. Hope they find a way home

Will keep praying for the families

Supplys

"Creative Paperclay® modeling material" 

acrylic paint

White ( egg)

straw(toast& egg)

brown (toast)

Black( egg)

Roll out the white of the egg

roll a ball for the yoke then flatten to shape of yoke

Roll our flat then trace a toast pattern cut out.I made mine thin put can be the same a toast.

Use a sponge to make a texture for toast

Just tap on clay

When dry paint, it is good to have a piece of toast by you to copy

I sprinkle a little powder on surface so nothing sticks

Roll out the white of the egg I like it to be on even and splits 

Roll another  ball for the yoke then flatten to shape of yoke and press to white part.

When dry paint white,
 yoke yellow
Sprinkle with black for pepper
Place on your favorite place.
I did the sign to explan the egg and toast keeping warm.

Start of trip of New York

Hi everyone

Happy Pink Saturday

This is me in New York. This is where to skate Sure different from here where I do my skating .

Loved it there hope to go back some day.Will have to save.Went day and night,Weather was wonderful.

 See the edge is so rough

I use a paint  thin downed to smooth if there are not too much.

A wet sponge works great 

I do all so use a craft sand paper

The edge is now smooth

Hi everyone

Hope everyone is having a fun time getting all there thing ready for the big holiday.

I like getting the center piece and name card, napkin rings.

But this year I will be standing on the street watching  the Macy's day parade.

Taking pictures of things in NYC.

I have been having pain in my joints since end of July.

Cannot seem to find what is wrong.They put me on a strong pain pills so hope it get s better.

Have not been able to get in to a specialis,

I'm still planning on going so hope it works out.

Will see a specialis when I get back

First Show

I draw the shape on a piece of paper

Take a piece of clay roll out flat in the shape of your leave.

I flip it over a couple time so it does not stick or you could sprinkle powder.

Draw the vains and roll edges to look like a turn, round the the edges smooth

First Show 

For my Clay projects

Draw the vains and roll edges to look like a turn, round the the edges smooth
                                                           

roll a small bit of clay to make a branch for the handle . Roll as long as you want your handle

I place something under the handle to hold it in place .Then attach with some water and smooth out You can use a brush  or your finger.

Now we do the leaves. Cut a shape of a leaf Use a tool that cut the clay away
A ice pick would work good

You then draw vain son the leaves.
A  much easy way is to get a mold of a leaf and use it

Hear are my leaves some from mold some hand molded


let it all dry

Now we paint.
Americana( brand of paint)
Country red
Rookwood red

Folk art( brand of paint)
pumpkin

Delta Creamcoat(brand of paint)
Straw ,Brown Antiquing gel

brush edges with some  pumpkin , straw.
Do the tray the same way

When dry and the way you like them.
Seal with a water base varnish I use Delta Creamcoat gloss ( I like a shine)
Glue a branch from a tree or make from clay
Write your message on a small paper (I rip for torn edge) and glue.

Pass the tray and start the conversations
I use for Thanksgaving .I find out allot I never knew.

I put some in a tree,sat them around my center piece.

Make as many leaves you need for a guests.They can be name placement card, also nice for napkin ring

Hope everyone is feeling good

I had this tray and it not good to look at 

So thought I would ask my blog friends what do they think I could do 

allot said paint it so here is the start and finish.

 painted a base coat it with a off white

painted roses and a lady

finished off with a gray rubbed edge

After I put a sealer on it I will tie the tin hearts, that is in the picture above
